Guest Testimonials

"A very comfortable, beautifully designed and house fully equipped with all things you may need in your stay. Helpful navigation by the owner from the village to the house so the access was not difficult at all."

"Sensitively renovated old stone house, comfortable, real peaceful haven located in the middle of nature. The owners are very warm and welcoming and always willing to help. A very nice and great place for lovers of nature, beautiful landscape and activities offered by the regions of Alt Emporda and Garrotxa (hiking, biking, climbing...) Highly recommended"

"L'estancia a Can petitot ha estat genial. Esperem tornar-hi."

"We can't say enough about Can Petitot: more-than-comfortable accommodations and a beautiful and peaceful setting. We brought our two-and-a-half-year-old daughter, and Can Petitot was pefect for us: lots of room to explore, near-silence (you can't hear a highway!), a great swimming pool... Especially good if you want to eat out during the day and cook in at night as it is about 30 minutes or so to the nearest town with any selection of restaurants. Mick and Carmel are the perfect hosts and made us feel welcome from the first day. Truly kind people. We have very happy memories of our week with them, and we recommend Can Petitot highly!"

"We stayed with rugged retreats at the end of august and had a wonderful time. The location of our cottage was absolutely stunning! We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lifestyle at home, and recharge our batteries, and rugged retreats certainly ticked all the boxes for us! We had a great welcome from our hosts and they ensured that we had a magical vacation. The tranquil surroundings provided us with food for the soul......we were staying in the foothills of the pyrenees, in a semi secluded valley surrounded by beautiful pine forrests and mountain streams. The closest little village was only 15 mins drive down a pretty bumpy track, but this journey added to the sense of adventure we experienced, and llado offered a great piscina which our 4 year old loved. The village is small but very quaint, and unspoilt, which is what we loved the most. The location of rugged retreats is great for exploring the area, and the beautiful beaches and coves that the Costa Brava has to offer. We particularly enjoyed our visit to Besalu, a medieval town with stunning bridge....(our hosts kindly offered to give us a guided tour). We also took a trip to Cadaques and Cap de Creus, which has amazing views on a clear day. We have visited this area many times and usually stay on the coast, but our mountain retreat was a refreshing change which we highly recommend."

"What a perfect vacation! Mick and Carmel are probably the best hosts a guest could wish for - they are kind, extremely helpful and interesting people. We traveled with 2 other couples and 2 infants (total of 8 people) and the place was exactly what we wanted, with enough space for each couple to have privacy (and the mountain offers plenty of space as well.... :). The beds were comfy, the kitchen was great (we did lots of cooking) and the terrace was simply perfect. The solar house was fantastic and we never ran out of electricity!! Very inspiring. We stayed at their gorgeous house for just over a week and would definitely love to come again. Thanks for everything, we miss you already."
